Designing calligraphy tattoos in Persian (Farsi) or Arabic, as well as tattoo designs in Urdu and Dari, is perhaps the largest single component of my work. If you are going to get permanently inked, make sure that your tattoo is correct and beautiful! I am bilingual in Persian (Farsi) and English, and work with experts in Arabic and other languages to make sure that every word and spelling is correct. I’ve been doing Persian calligraphy since I was in fifth grade and have nearly four decades experience designing Arabic and Persian tattoos. My emphasis is on the calligraphy itself–that is, letting the calligraphic forms create the design, whether it be abstract, in the form of, zoomorphic (in the shape of animals), rondel (circle designs) or other traditional or contemporary forms.
